I’m subscribed to just under 100 blog feeds. Yowsa. This page, however, is just a selection of my favorites.
I swear by these:
Conversation Agent
The power of conversation to build relationships; marketing, public relations, B2C, B2B, and more. Valeria Maltoni connects ideas and people, and she even thought highly enough of me to interview me back in 2009 for her site, sparking an idea which would lead me to my life’s work. Possibly the first blog I ever subscribed to, and I continue to read almost every day.
Inclined to Design
Casudi is one of my favorite people in all the world. A seasoned, successful entrepreneur with a global mindset, Casudi is currently involved in a number of meaningful, interesting projects. From the painstaking restoration of a one-of-a-kind ’53 Riva speedboat, to rainwater collection systems, to design, to international business ventures, Casudi does it all. (She’s also a gearhead.)
John Falchetto
John Falchetto has lived on three continents, worked in a variety of fields, and now helps people realize their dreams of living abroad, starting or developing a business, and stepping out of the corporate world. He’s handy with metaphors and always has valuable insight on what it takes to turn hopes and dreams into actions and success.
Danny Brown
What can I say? He’s very influential when it comes to sheep! Actually, I like reading Danny’s blog because he doesn’t sugarcoat his thoughts in keyword-rich, marketing double-speak. He’s real. Just like everyone else on this page. If it walks like a duck, Danny will call it a duck.
Umair Haque
Purpose, meaning, value. If you’re tired of lowest common denominator, business-as-usual, thin value flipping, corporate bullshit, you need to read his stuff. “Higher quality value is created by doing stuff of greater worth.” Umair advocates the responsible production of less goods, more betters.
The BrandBuilder Blog
Everything you know about measuring social media ROI is wrong – unless you heard it from this guy. From how to connect the dots between social media and actual business objectives, to how to structure an efficient social media team, Olivier Blanchard pulls no punches.
Scott Gould and Friends
Scott says, “This is our blog.” Conversations on leadership, teamwork, and more on a friendly, down-to-earth level. It’s social as the co-creation of a realtime product – community. This blog is all about the comments section. Unfortunately, Scott’s been a bit quiet of late, but I’m leaving this here because I look forward to him rebooting his site some day.
Automotive Goodness:
The Truth About Cars
Yes, they seem to publish eleventy-billion articles a day, driving just about everything else to the bottom of my feed list, but it’s timely, intelligent, and Jack Baruth (and Derek Kreindler).
Rich Corinthian Leather
Although Derek Kreindler seems more interested in expensive watches, crotch-rockets, and gold diggers, his tumblr reminds me of GQ mixed with Esquire mixed with FHM mixed with Super Street. It’s easily digested style with just the right amount of pretentiousness.
Car Throttle
Over the years, I’ve gotten to know site owner Adnan, editor James, and all-around good guy, Tony. It’s more automotive news and information, but it’s done by friends, and I appreciate their time and effort.
Build Threads
Okay. This is just cool to check out. From Alfa-based hotrods to VW Fox-turned Utes, you just never know. It’s creative gearheads at their best. Definitely worth a follow.
