Could this be “living fiction?”  An on-going story based loosely upon real events.

Part 1
Drakes and Kayside ignore a perfectly good evening in order to complain about their job, Drakes gives an honest bum a buck for beer, and is that van really following him?

Part 2
Drakes enjoys a thorough drive east out of Phoenix on his way to meet Hymes, whose keys are now missing.

Part 3
Drakes and Hymes “think like a thief” and rely upon the kindness of a good Samaritan to get Hymes back behind the wheel.

Part 4
Drakes and Hymes find their maps are useless. The road is nowhere to be found.
