The Orange car was a concept car, which in fact was not as close to the R8
in design I think, as was the brushed aluminum concept car displayed at Pebble beach a few years prior, called the AUDI Avus. BTW if I designed my ideal car from scratch, it would be the R8. What would yours be?
@CASUDI

This was a very raw post, @CASUDI. It started off about individuality, but then transformed into something else. Most of the time, I will edit, re-edit, and then edit again to put my very best foot forward, but sometimes it's not the best thing to do.

I think the point is that, while we might all be able to appreciate the steps taken by those who live in the spotlight, not everyone is interested in being center stage. Just as long as we're on stage, right?

Also, I'm thinking there aren't a lot of models offered in that orange. Curious what your new purchase was? There's nothing wrong with going gray, either. It's far easier to keep clean than, say, a black or white car, so in a sense, it's actually a smart choice of color!

You make a really good point with those pictures, and somewhat of a sore point with me :-) My very last auto purchase replaced the pearlescent white car I had had for 15 years, and I had decided the next would be pearlescent orange, yet when it actually came down to placing the order I opted out and ordered Daytona gray, just like everyone else :)

So in terms of what you wrote about what does this mean? I certainly did not give up my individuality, however it would seem I wanted to go with the flow, send a signal out that I was with everyone else rather then 'go it alone' or 'do my own thing" . When it comes right down to it, I look for a balance between being an individual and being part of communities. So true what you say about the "herd" and being ever vigilant and I do see that maintaining individuality is a way to combat herd mentality. Thanks for giving new insight. @CASUDI
