I often post things up to make sure I don’t forget to do them. I still need to draft my plan of attack for 2009, but last night, it hit me. I am already slammed well into January. Here’s what I’ll be getting myself into in the coming weeks…
[COMPANY!] Kris and Christine Marciniak will be stopping by on or around the 3rd on their way driving from Maine to California in a Dodge Neon rally car. V and I have been to their place a number of times, but they’ve yet to see our house, and it will be really cool to have an actual rally car parked within ten feet of my “Rally Marketing Vehicle (RMV).” Very excited about this!
[Brick] 1986 Volvo 245GL (B230F/AW70)
- Replace brake pads F/R.
- Remove/Clean/Install transmission cooler lines.
- Remove/Clean/Install power steering pump, replace low pressure hoses, re-route belt.
['Migo] 1998 Isuzu Amigo 4WD (6VD1/4L30)
- Replace faulty fuel level sending unit.
- Tune Up: Replace spark plugs, both FO2S, clean K&N.

- Tune Up: Spark plugs, clean K&N.
- Replace ticking hydraulic lash adjusters (“lifter tick”), leaking valve cover & turbo drain gaskets.
- Investigate idle surge/cold starting hijinks. FIAV, perhaps?
[195] 1991 Mitsubishi Galant VR4 (4G63T/W5M33)
- Core Support Joints: brace/splint, resolve engine support crossmember puzzle.
- Consider re-do of intercooler plumbing, tow hook location, prior to bumper cover installation.
- Install auxiliary lighting on front, require bumper modifications?
- 4WS deletion.
- Pass AZDOT Level III Inspection, smog, register.
On top of all that, I’d like to see about getting the local rally fans together under the RAZ banner to discuss our first event ever, sometime before April. Perhaps a trip to Johnson Valley, California to compete in sanctioned rallycross?
Time will tell. Gonna be busy. Should be plenty of grainy camera phone pictures coming to both sites in coming weeks. Press on regardless.
