This past weekend, Vanessa and I snuck away to Las Vegas for our one year wedding anniversary. We decided to go back to where it all happened last year, even staying at the Plaza down on Freemont like we did for the wedding. The Asian ladies in the room next door who were compelled to talk to each other at the top of their lungs in the middle of the night were pretty much the only downside. We had a great time.
This weekend also marked the first road trip we’ve taken in close to three years which was not in the Amigo. I’ll admit that I was a bit nervous about taking a GVR4 I’ve only owned for a week or so on a road trip without any tools or spares, but 464 did a fine job of getting us to and from Vegas, as well as around town.
The little, Japanese “econobox” surprised a number of other drivers with it’s ability to pass them on hills like nothing and despite some generous use of the turbocharger from time to time, we still got 20mpg around Vegas and as much as 27mpg between Vegas and Wikieup, AZ. Outstanding.
Working two jobs these days, so content might be a bit sparse, but I aim to continue pressing on with the site as I can. Appreciate your stopping in to take a peek at what’s been going on with the Galant.
