Light The Night 2008
Saturday evening, after spending the day in Home Depot new hire orientation (my second job), Vanessa and I met up with some friends of hers from work to participate in the annual Light the Night walk for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at Tempe Town Lake. The walk about something like two miles and, from what I heard, the event raised more than $40,000 for the organization. LLS uses these funds to support research into cures and therapies for people suffering from Luekemia and Lymphoma. It was a somewhat balmy evening, but it felt really good to be one of the thousands of people walking around the lake in the busiest part of Tempe on a Saturday night with our balloons all lit up.
For more information, visit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society website. Walks are held all across the country. It’s an easy way to show support and help make a difference in the lives of others.
