I’m Staying With Dreamhost!
Dateline: SoCal! Co-founder of Dreamhost.com makes really stupid typo and accidentally charges $7.5M to his customers’ credit and debit cards! Those whose cards were not charged had their sites disabled for lack of payment! To quote a certain Sicilian, “Inconthievable!”
And while I, personally, never trust a Sicilian when death is on the line, death is certainly not on the line in this case. At a time when some might be doing their damnedest to try and milk this situation for their own, personal benefit with threats of legal action (gotta love that American sense of entitlement), I felt it was necessary to make a post showing my support for Dreamhost.com. They acknowledged the error almost immediately and took prompt action to see to it that all that money went right back. They are proof that there are still good people living in southern California.
DR1665.com is proudly hosted with Dreamhost.com and will continue to be hosted by Dreamhost.com until such time as Josh or another member of the staff is caught toilet-papering my front lawn. (Good luck, suckers. I’m in an apartment right now.)
To read the official explanation of what happened, visit the Official Dreamhost Blog. (Feel free to read through the comments if you would like to further lose your faith in American society in general. If you didn’t already know, we Americans now have a “right” to not be inconvenienced in any way. To do so is to actionable!)
